PREVIOUS MESSAGE – 2:00 pm

At 3:50 a.m. the South and North energy plants experienced a loss of chilled water (due to a leak) causing the chillers to trip.  Facilities is currently isolating portions of the chilled water loop to determine the location of the leak.  Pending repairs, the university will experience a loss of cooling to core academic and research Main Campus buildings, such as classrooms, offices and recreational areas.    Air handlers in affected buildings will provide air flow, but no cooling will be available.

Areas not affected include:  West Campus Buildings, University Oaks, Roadrunner Cafe, Laurel Village, Chaparral Village, Chisholm Hall, Bauerle Rd Offices, Child Development Center, Plaza Norte Building, Margaret Tobin Labs, Science Research Labs, Sculpture/Ceramics, MEMS Lab, Central Receiving Warehouse, Business Service Annex, Facilities Service Building, Center for Archaeological Research, BSL-3 Labs

Classes at the Main Campus remain on normal schedule.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working quickly to resolve the issue.  For additional information contact Facilities Work Control at 458-4262.
