Parents, visitors, and guests can access emergency communications through the following methods:

Campus Alerts Website 

Parents, visitors and guests have access to emergency information through the UTSA Campus Alerts website that is routinely updated during an emergency, and provides an outlet for internal and external stakeholders to quickly  review updates during a  rapidly  developing situation or emergency. This website also serves as a clearinghouse of campus emergency preparedness information, as well as road closures, class cancellations, general alerts, and other areas of interest to the UTSA community. Social Media (Facebook, Twitter) 

Another tool the UTSA OEM utilizes to enhance communication and disseminate information related to campus emergencies, crime alerts, or issues concerning public safety is social media. Parents, visitors and guests should follow the public safety social media accounts listed below:

Emergency Hotline: 458-SNOW (7669)

UTSA has an emergency recorded message phone line. UTSA faculty, staff, students, parents, and visitors can call 210-458-SNOW (7669) at any time for information about the university regarding the status of classes and employee work schedules.

UTSA Alerts Emergency Notification System 

In addition, there is an “opt-in” feature that enables parents, visitors and guests to temporarily receive emergency notifications through a text message while they are on campus.

How to sign up for temporary emergency alerts:

  • Text UTSAGuest to 226787. You will receive a confirmation and welcome text.
  • Registration for guest alerts expire after two weeks.
  • Reply “STOP UTSAGuest” to cancel.
