Wildfire north of UTSA Main Campus causes poor air quality

On the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 7, there was a large wildfire between Camp Bullis and Fair Oaks Ranch near Interstate 10 in northwest San Antonio. This is a few miles north of the UTSA Main Campus.

As of 10 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, San Antonio Fire Department and first responders continued field operations. More than 150 acres have burned. Power was restored to evacuated neighborhoods and residents were cleared to return to their homes. The wildfire was 75% contained. An air-quality health alert was issued through Thursday.

Threats to the UTSA Main Campus are poor air quality and smoky skies over the campus. Protective Actions:  Limit outdoor activity, stay informed.
