UTSA Tests Giant Voice Emergency Notification System – April 10, 1 – 5 pm

The UTSA Office of Emergency Management will conduct an indoor-outdoor test of the Giant Voice emergency notification system between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2015 at the UTSA Main Campus.  Most buildings on the Main Campus are outfitted with the system, which will announce this test message twice:  “Attention, attention, this is a test of the UTSA Giant Voice Emergency Notification System. This is only a test.”

The indoor test will last approximately 35 seconds, and no evacuations will be necessary.  UTSA community members and visitors who are outdoors on the Main Campus will hear the same message during this time.  However, emergency management officials will conduct additional tests of the outdoor siren towers until 5:00 pm to ensure full functionality.
